MAXBOND SKIM COAT
MAXBOND Skim Coat is a versatile high finish wall putty, manufactured under a strict quality
assurance system to give a high strength and smooth finish to your inner and outer walls. As it
is a white cement based product it is moisture and abrasive resistant. It can be applied as
interior & exterior smooth plaster for cement blocks, compressed stabilised soil brick, walls
and concrete slab soffits, without any plaster. Due to it's mooth finish your painting cost will
be reduced. From a 20km bag a skilled mason can cover 100-300sq. ft wall area to the thickness
from 1-3mm Preparation of the Surface In the case of a newly built surface Maxbond skim coat can
be applied onto it directly. For older walls surface should be cleaned of dust, paint, grit and
other impurities before applying. Please wet the surface before applying.
PREPARATION
MAXBOND Skim Coat is a powder for which you 'll require 400-500ml of water for 1kg of Maxbond skim coat powder. 1. Take required amount of water in bucket. 2. Measure the required amount of the powder and gradually add to the water while stirring. Should be stirred well to avoid formation of lumps. It is advisable to use mechanical drum mixer or an electric mixer to get better results. 3. Mix for atleast 3 to 5 minutes until consistent and homogeneous lump free mixture is obtained. 4. Please note that quantity prepared should be used up within an hour. Acrylic Wall Filler for better results.
APPLICATION
Please use a trowel to apply the skim coat upwards. Stir the mixture every 15 minutes to keep it fluid. 2nd coat can be applied only after 6-12 hours. 24 hours after applying any unevenness can be smoothened with sand paper.
PRECAUTION
- DO NOT store in humid or wet area.
- Always keep the powder in an airtight container.
- Avoid spread of dust during handing. Use a mask.
- Flush eyes at once with plenty of water if they come in to contact with powder and consult a doctor.
- Keep out of reach from children.
